Turramurra Memorial Park Picnic Shelter
Semester 2, 2009
Turramurra Memorial Park is receiving a major upgrade, and our design studio was given the opportunity to design the new Picnic Shelter which was to go in the new playground. Utilising our study into CNC milling, we designed Picnic Shelters based upon the councils brief, while attempting to push the boundaries of how a picnic shelter works. One students work will be chosen and our studio will have hands on experience from concept to construction.

Alive – Ends
Semester 1, 2009
‘Alive Ends’ is the design result of my first design masterclass, Environmentally Sustainable Design, run by tutors Adam Russell and Simeon King. As a class we observed and analysed the Ultimo Precinct in which our university is situated. Based upon these site analysis we were then asked to develop architectural interventions which attempted to resolve certain conflicts with the urban fabric. Based upon the resolution of pedestrian flows vs. dead-ends, ‘Alive Ends’ aims to create new pocket spaces with the addition of new pedestrian corridors via perforation.
This design concentrates itself in two areas within the Ultimo Precinct. The first is at the end of the Ultimo Pedestrian Network where it terminates behind the ABC building Ultimo Road. This is not a dead end as such, but rather aims to enliven the dead space by inserting new programmatic spaces and a new terrace park. The second is located on the dead end of Bijou Lane and punches through the base of the TAFE building, meeting the tunnel that runs underneath George Street. This building comes up and over the TAFE building, inserting itself within the existing roof top space creating a new use for the under utilised space.
Ulterior Motives – This project is being exhibited at Customs House in Sydney until the 25th of October, 2009.
UTS 2020
Semester 2, 2008
As a result of the Sydney Masterplan, UTS is to receive a brand new Learning Commons by 2020. This project saw us challenge what a library was and how we could push the boundaries for our own. My design consists of an organised system of levels encased within a transparent skin, enhancing the idea that the library has become a machine, a machine that encourages interaction between the users and all other mediums.
UR:3R Barrangaroo
Semester 1, 2008
The Barrangaroo site is located in between Kings Street Wharf and Darling Harbour, and contains a sizable piece of Sydney’s iconic foreshore. This design dealt with developing a masterplan for the site which integrated a waste management plant within a series of other programmatic spaces that enhanced the lifestyle of the region.
